Lush Karma Bubble Bar

A few days ago I posted about the Lush Haul that included the Karma Bubble Bar. This one was a new one to me as I had only ever stuck to the infamous "Comforter".

How glad am I that I picked up this little beauty. Whilst its not as big as some of the other bubble bars, it certainly packs a punch.

I broke this bubble bar in half and crumbled one half into the bath tub under hot running water, cue tons and tons of white fluffy bubbles filled the bath. The water was a beautiful orange colour that felt lovely and soothing right throughout my bath time.

Karma smells lovely and fresh with hints of fruity fragrances that filled the whole bathroom for hours and hours even after the bath. It also gave my skin a similar scent that stayed all day and wasn't overpowering at all.

If you like a soothing yet fun and vibrant bath, then this product is definitely for you :)

Witch Anti Blemish Primer

When I was in the skincare aisle of superdrug last week I noticed Cosmetics mixed in with all the skincare products. My initial thought was that someone had picked these up and then decided they didnt want them, and lazily put them back wherever they wanted (a massive pet hate of mine). No. Witch have now branched out into the cosmetic world!

I picked up the Anti Blemish Skin Perfecting Primer, because lets face it, anything that claims to clear up the skin whilst making you look your best is going to be a winner.

The upright bottle and pump is a really handy product to use as it minimises mess and is easy to control how much product you use. I think its much better packaging than the standard squeezy tubes that primer normally comes in. It's also great for travel as it is so sturdy and practically break free.

The actual product is a thick gel like consistency which should be approached with the less is more sort of attitude as a little really does go a a long way, but I suppose it is all down to personal preference.
It's light on the skin and is extremely hydrating, which dries to a matte finish, creating a perfect base for your foundation or powder.

I found this product to wear for around the 6-7 hour mark before any signs of oil crept up, but a little touch up of powder and all was fine. This primer kept my base looking fresh all day, as I didn't experience any patches.

Overall, I would recommend this primer to anyone with oily, combination, or blemish prone skin, as this really does work and is purse friendly.

Anti Blemish Primer 30ml is £6.99 but it is currently half price at £3.49 in Superdrug.

Last week, as I waved goodbye to my teenage years, I was planning what to buy with my birthday money. Lush was definitely first on my list.

I normally go into Lush quite alot anyway, even it is just to have a good old sniff of some products (hello weirdo) but this time I knew that I would buy some of the faithful products that I've always loved, and then try some new ones along the way.

I will do individual reviews of these once I have used them, but for now I will just show you what I bought...

Two more to add to the collection...

This weekend my boyfriend treated me to two MAC Lipsticks, and in my head I was going through all the possibilities that I could get but just couldnt decide.

I eventually settled on Fanfare and Lady Danger. These were the two that just stood out to me in the display although there were many others that I was lusting after. However, I thought these two would be a nice addition to my collection as I dont have anything quite like either of these.

Fanfare is a pinky nude colour in the tube but on my lips its a slighty deeper nude that almost rose coloured. I love this for everyday, and think that it makes my lips look really healthy. This colour would be lovely for all skin tones but would super lush on paler toned lovelies. Fanfare is a cremesheen formula so is really moisturising on the lips, but is still really pigmented.

Lady Danger is the complete opposite of Fanfare. This is the brightest red lipstick anyone could ever own. I have red lipsticks in my collection but nothing as beautiful as this. Imagine the red version of Morange and that image you have in your head, is Lady Danger. Again, like Fanfare, this is prefect for all skin tones. The formula of this is a matte one, so whilst its not drying on the lips like most other matte lipsticks, it does cling to the dry patches on the lips so a healthy pout is a must!

I'm in love with MAC lipsticks and will continue to buy them in the future.

Do you have any of these lipsticks? Any recommendations?

My Guide to starting University.

Its that time of year again, when the nerves begin to kick in as people await results and confirmation of their places at university...

Two years ago I was in that same position and I really sure how I was going to react if I got the grades or hadn't quite done as well as I had hoped. Needless to say I'm going into my final year of uni in September and I thought I would share with you the things that I have learnt along my journey.

Firstly, its important to know that you have definitely picked the right university and course. For me, going on open days or looking online at different universities was really, really fun!! It may seem like there are so many to choose from but the best place to look as I'm sure that you will be aware is UCAS. Once you have decided what sort of course you want to do you can see all of the universities that offer this course of a variation of that course. This is a lengthy process but the more research you do the better.

Visiting open days is extremely important because this is probably the first look that you will get of the place that you are going to spend the next three years of your life. It's important on the open day that you visit the campus in full, and if you get the chance have a look at the accommodation. Also, dont be afraid to ask questions to current students, lecturers, campus workers, any information is good information.

Once you have stared uni, organisation is key. Make a list of all the things you will need in halls, and only take what YOU need, dont buy more than necessary as they will go missing left, right and centre in Halls. Make sure that you have the necessary equipment for your lectures. It's not school, you can't put your hand up and say you've forgotten your pen or you have no paper. Everything is your responsibility.

Whether your in Halls or staying at home, keep things organised at home. Trust me, theres nothing worse than losing your lecture notes when you know you need them for some coursework. Make detailed notes in lectures and seminars because these will become essential for coursework and exam revision. Another big tip, it's not geeky to use the library! There are tons of resources in the library besides books, eg free internet, printers (although most unis do charge to print), journals, articles, seminar rooms, dvds and videos, projectors, the list goes on.

Another important tip that I learnt the hard way was manage your time correctly. When you get set a piece of coursework, you will be given the deadline date. The deadline day isnt the day it should be finished, it the day it should be handed in. Aim to have your work finished for atleast beforehand. This way you have time to proof read, add any extras, take items out, and just make any general amendments rather than rushing on the deadline day.

I'm going into my third and final year of my Tourism Management BA(Hons) Course at Manchester Metropolitan University and I honestly have had the best time of my life. At times it has been stressful, and there have been some days where I've wanted to pack the whole thing in. But I know that at the end of it I'm going to have a graduation day and have a degree to my name that I never thought I would have. The best part? I've made some real friends for life, and have proved to myself that I can do things if I just put my Mnd to it.

I hope this has helped anyone who is going to university in september, these are just lessons that I've learnt along the way and you will learn so much more from your own experiences. Sorry it's an extremely long post but I thought that it would be useful.

Good Luck,
Katie xx
